BIOVIGIL - Case Study
National brand partner
Biovigil is a national brand for a handwashing monitoring system. Their products are widely used in hospitals across the United States. Several of their clients, including RML Hospital Systems and St. Bernard Hospitals, are based in Chicago. Initially, BioVigil hired Nichevisuals to produce a video testimonial at St. Bernard Hospital to promote their brand. Since then, we have produced several of their product overview videos and captured photographs for their promotional brochures and website.
Challenge
Hospitals are difficult environments for video production and photography. The challenge was clear when we filmed a BioVigil testimonial at a relatively small but busy St. Bernard Hospital in Chicago. The hospital administration, unaware of the needs for video production, assigned us to a small, congested room not well suited for two-camera video interviews. We quickly scouted other areas of the hospital and negotiated the use of a wide transitional area that connected patients to and from surgery rooms. During production, we occasionally paused our video recording to allow patients to be moved. Despite these challenges, we filmed professional-looking video interviews that aligned with the BioVigil brand.
Outcome
We earned BioVigil’s trust through the success of the St. Bernard Hospital testimonial video, which led to additional product overview and educational video projects for RML Hospital. RML Hospital had an empty wing available. With a controlled environment, we were able to raise the production value. BioVigil hired actors. We deployed professional lighting and delivered high-end cinematic footage. Photos from this production have been used across BioVigil’s promotional content, both in print and on their website. Moreover, the cinematic video footage captured at RML that day has been repurposed for new product release videos.
For the latest product overview video, we hired the same voice actor and filmed her against a green screen. Later, in post-production, we inserted her back into the RML Hospital room where we had filmed earlier. This approach, combined with a library of high-quality B-roll footage, allows Biovigal to update future videos efficiently without starting from scratch.
